ACCREDITED BODIES
The Authority is currently in the process of examining a number of applications from organisations wishing to work in the field of adoption both in Ireland and abroad.
In relation to Intercountry Adoption the following agencies have been accredited; ARC Adoption Ltd in respect of activities listed under Section 4 (a-d) of the Adoption Act 2010, PACT in respect of activities listed under Section 4(e-g) of the Adoption Act 2010 and the International Adoption Association(I.A.A) in respect of activities listed under Section 4(g) of the Adoption Act 2010.
Persons involving themselves in making arrangements for adoption may be in breach of the Adoption Act 2010 and may be committing an offence under that Act.
The HSE is the competent authority, under the Adoption Act 2010, for the processing of domestic adoptions. Accredited bodies will work with the HSE in all areas of adoption, undertaking those activities for which they are accredited.
